Don's three decades with Welty have brought unprecedented growth. Creative problem-solving is one of the skills he applies to both Welty, and your projects.
Under Don's leadership, The Welty Building Company built the first LEED®-Certified building in Summit County: the Akron Zoological Park's Komodo Kingdom. Some other noteworthy structures during his tenure as President are the internationally-acclaimed Akron Art Museum, and Inventure Place - the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and Blossom Music Center.
Don also applies his energies to a dozen not-for-profit boards. But he sees his most important role as that of husband to Mary, and father to sons Joe and Michael. He says, “My business successes are merely the means to allow me to enjoy the ever-increasing joy of my family, friends and home.”
