Akron Children’s Hospital
New Considine Professional Building

The Project
Welty constructed a new seven-story, 250,000 square foot Medical Office Building for Akron Children’s Hospital. The building houses the Heart Center, NeuroDevelopmental Center, Pulmonology Suite, Adoptive Health, Sick Child Care Center, outpatient lab, Pediatric offices and a 200-seat auditorium with a conference center.  

Other features managed by Welty included installation of the medical gas systems, emergency back up power generation, uninterrupted power source for technology and the hot/chilled water variable air volume mechanical system. The building was completed in September of 2003.
