The Project
On April 5, 2004, Summa Health System and Akron Children’s Hospital broke ground for an 80,000 square foot, three-story medical center that provides healthcare services for both adults and children in the same facility. Welty Building Company was the construction manager for this partnership of healthcare providers. Summa’s services include: adult urgent care, blood draw and specimen collection, bone density testing, cardiology and neurology diagnostics, corporate health, general radiology (including mammography), MRI testing and CT scanning, sleet studies, subspecialty physician offices, and ultrasound (including vascular). Akron Children’s Hospital provides: Children’s After House for urgent care, Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine, pediatric subspecialty physician offices, and pediatric therapeutic and laboratory services.
