The Project
This 77,000 sq. ft. museum houses five levels of tiers beneath a 70 ft. tall “sail” constructed of stainless steel. A broad plaza serves as the roof for 12,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space built 33 feet below street level. A four story office, conference and educational building is attached. The architectural cast-in-place concrete structure was built in the heart of downtown Akron as the home of the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
